We revisited<\/strong> Ozric Tentacles’ “Lost in the sky”<\/span> as well as seven AS<\/p>\n Bass Journal\u00a0Part 4<\/a><\/p>\n Bass Journal\u00a0Part 3<\/a><\/p>\n Bass Journal\u00a0Part 2<\/a><\/p>\n
\nMediterranean modal islands including Ionian, Lydian, Phrygian<\/span>, in order to
\naccompany the rising chromatic patterns within Kevin Kendle’s “Dance of Electra<\/span>“,
\nfor an entire tantalising ninety minutes….but there’s no rest when you’re already
\nin the hang glider, soaring with the composers-performers towards the Pleiades. AS
\nspent relentless minutes (on the six-string acoustic too for a while) self
\ncorrecting and NOT experimenting in order to achieve the precision the piece
\nrequires …to recreate exactly the uplifting middle crescendo and descent.
\nOnly then, with ten minutes to spare, my request, prior to our session, was to
\nacquire the basics which form the signature bass melodies from the 1973 album “Tales<\/span>
\n from Topographic Oceans”<\/span> by the band, Yes, which took a matter of minutes! The
\nrealisation of 41 years of captivation was upon me, as I played the simplest notes
\nin compete accord with the dear late maestro, Chris Squire<\/span>, to my own amazement and
\ndelight.<\/p>\n
